Everyone here at AOK has a lot to be grateful for this holiday season. We are off to an amazing start, thanks to founding AOK supporters like you who have been moved by our vision of leveraging the power of community to unleash the potential of our young people.
We prove every day that building community on the basis of love, trust and high expectations in order to support our young people is a winning formula. Four of our kids have just completed their first semesters in college. One more will be able to continue in college this spring, despite an unfortunate change in family circumstances. Two more will be starting community college in January, and two are in the middle of the college application process for next fall. One has signed up for a sound technician school to further his career as a DJ, and another is about to start at an institute to become a barber. With the support of a growing community of caring adults like you, we provide all kinds of support to our young people, just as each of us would for our own kids. And word continues to spread; new young people join us for Thursday Night Dinner virtually every week.
I’m grateful for the confidence you have in our vision, and for the support you’ve already given to AOK. We could not have accomplished everything we have in 2016 without you. I hope you will consider making a year-end gift to ensure that 2017 will build on this momentum, and be a year of growth, connection and accomplishment for a growing number of AOK kids, and for all AOK family members, regardless of age.

On behalf of everyone here at AOK, I wish you a joyous holiday season.
Best regards,
David (Dad-in-chief)
