We’re very excited about our next Artists-in-Residence. Purple Hurt is a DC band whose tunes have an irresistible energy and a way of getting inside your head and staying there–in a way you like! (Check out their music here.) The band will be coming to Wellfleet the last week of March for an intensive week of rehearsal and recording.
The band will be staying in the gorgeous Kohlberg House, right on top of the dunes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, thanks to our partnership with Peter McMahon and the Cape Cod Modern House Trust (CCMHT). We are so grateful to CCMHT for providing this incredible opportunity to the musicians in Purple Hurt to stay in a calm, beautiful space where they can work in peace, surrounded by nature!
Purple Hurt will get invaluable time in the studio, thanks to the generosity of Chris Blood and Sonic Trout. And the band will be performing at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown on Saturday, March 28th. Huge thanks to Lydia Hicks and the whole FAWC family for welcoming our young artists with open arms and for providing the space for this show. (Stay tuned for details about the show, including special surprise musicians opening the show!)
Finally, we’re beyond excited that Purple Hurt will be doing our very first Instagram takeover, where they will fill AOK’s IG with the story of their week in Wellfleet.
