Tatiana Chavez, a theater major going into her senior year at Boston University, will be AOK’s first resident artist at our fledgling artist retreat in Wellfleet, Massachusetts.
Fresh off a spring semester abroad at the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Tati will arrive in Wellfleet at the beginning of June to start an exciting and jam-packed three-month residency.
First off, she will be performing in the Provincetown Theater’s production of Sweeney Todd, from July 8 to August 29. If you’re going to be on Cape Cod at that time, be sure to go see the play—it’s going to be amazing and you can buy tickets here.
She will also be doing a summer-long internship at the P’town Theater, where she’ll learn all the ins and outs of what it takes to run a regional community theater from one of the best, P’town Theater Artistic Director David Drake. We are so grateful to David and the P’town Theater family for welcoming Tati this summer.
Finally, with the help of David Drake, Tati will be participating in a one-week-long writing and performance workshop taught by Ryan Amador and James Lecesne at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
As you can see, Tati, will be very busy this summer. We are proud of her and excited to welcome her in Wellfleet. And she won’t be alone! Other AOK artists participating in our inaugural AOK Wellfleet Artist Retreat residencies include Nabil Abdulkadir, Maryann Taruc and Bella Varela. Stay tuned to hear more about their residencies.
